Accounting Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create accurate, task-specific grading criteria for accounting deliverables.

• Assess both AI-generated and human-produced work samples in relation to the established criteria.

• Offer clear, detailed, and evidence-based written justifications for evaluations and scores.

• Evaluate if accounting outputs appropriately apply relevant standards, procedures, and professional judgment.

• Maintain consistency and objectivity throughout all evaluations.

• Ensure that evaluations are reproducible, defensible, and in line with professional accounting expectations.

• Incorporate feedback from senior reviewers and refine evaluation criteria and assessments accordingly.

• Identify technical errors, unsupported conclusions, incomplete analyses, and instances of failing to meet professional standards.

• Support a project that assesses the effectiveness of AI systems in performing real-world accounting tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience.

• Experience in audit, assurance, or advisory roles at a leading global accounting firm, or in a senior accounting capacity within a large public or private organization.

• CPA or an equivalent professional accounting certification is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP with practical experience in applying accounting standards.

• Extensive familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes.

• In-depth knowledge of account reconciliations.

• Comprehensive experience with financial statement preparation.

• Thorough understanding of financial statement disclosures.

• Significant familiarity with audit-ready documentation and workpapers.

• Proficient in technical accounting analysis.

• Outstanding written communication skills for articulating accounting evaluations.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical reasoning abilities.

• Comfortable having professional judgment reviewed, calibrated, and refined against established standards.

• Previous experience in AI training, AI evaluation, data annotation, rubric-based assessment, or human-data projects is a considerable advantage.
