Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver accounting assistance and execute accounting responsibilities of moderate complexity and confidentiality.

• Aid in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.

• Generate commission statement reconciliations using Excel to develop payroll files and journal entries.

• Calculate commission true-ups and prepare corresponding journal entries.

• Adjust accrual entries related to advisor commissions.

• Review work for precision and identify opportunities for process enhancement.

• Provide customer support to regional growth leads, contracting teams, and external agents.

• Adhere to established processing protocols while evaluating possibilities for future modifications.

• Serve as a backup for team members and document responsibilities to ensure processes are replicable.

• Maintain written accounting policies and procedures relevant to the role.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance the organization, its business segments, and operational processes.

• Raise issues and discrepancies while proposing potential solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline.

• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.

• Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.

• Strong computer skills in database management and record keeping.

• Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Demonstrated initiative and independence, complemented by team collaboration.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Exceptional organizational skills.

• Capacity to meet accounting deadlines and schedules.

• Professional skepticism.

• Ability to exemplify the organization’s core values and conduct that aligns with the firm's culture.

• Experience in Medicare commission, health, or insurance accounting is advantageous.
