This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Address a substantial backlog of external audits that have accumulated since 2022.
• Manage key aspects of the external audit process from start to finish, including preparing PBC, coordinating with auditors, and addressing technical accounting inquiries.
• Conduct technical accounting evaluations in accordance with HGB and IFRS standards.
• Co-manage the transition of consolidations from LucaNet to NetSuite and develop consolidation capabilities within NetSuite.
• Review monthly consolidated financial statements under HGB and IFRS while ensuring adherence to segregation of duties.
• Update balance sheet reconciliations and uphold monthly closing processes rigorously.
• Create the quarterly balance sheet briefing binder, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs) for the balance sheet, and operational insights.
• Engage in finance automation initiatives such as NetClose, NetCash, NetAsset, dunning automation, and AI-driven workflows.
• Design, execute, and enhance end-to-end Record to Report (R2R), Hire to Retire (H2R), Procure to Pay (P2P), and Order to Cash (O2C) processes and controls.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, People Operations, business stakeholders, external tax consultants, and North America accounting teams.
• Take full ownership of group consolidation, statutory and technical reporting, audit resolutions, and banking operations.
• Provide cross-training to the European Accounting team and share valuable institutional knowledge.
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting.
• Proven experience with consolidation across multiple entities and currencies.
• Strong preference for candidates with German or broader European accounting experience.
• Solid technical expertise in German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS group reporting.
• Certification equivalent to CPA in the United States.
• Preferred hands-on experience with LucaNet or NetSuite consolidation.
• Exceptional written communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in both German and English communication.
• Ability to independently tackle complex and ambiguous challenges with minimal supervision.
• Experience in establishing or enhancing processes and controls within a rapidly growing environment.
• Working knowledge of German trade tax, VAT, and wage tax issues.
• Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation, variance analysis, and balance sheet KPIs.
• Primarily remote work options available.
