This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Manage financial administration and accounting for grants and contracts awarded to the University of Wisconsin-Madison by both Federal and Non-Federal entities.
• Provide guidance and respond to inquiries from campus stakeholders regarding proper award-management processes and procedures.
• Prepare and assess financial reports, invoices, data, and records related to sponsored grants and contracts.
• Detect discrepancies, investigate issues, and propose solutions to ensure accuracy.
• Utilize the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to set up awards, review expenditures, issue invoices, manage accounts receivable, and handle post-award modifications.
• Analyze, interpret, and execute complex extramural award actions in compliance with federal, state, university, and sponsor regulations.
• Review and authorize financial transactions, including subaward invoices, PI transfers, refunds, payments, cost transfers, and the fiscal closeout of awards and projects.
• Work in collaboration with campus representatives to monitor, interpret, analyze, and reconcile financial data related to sponsored programs.
• Engage directly with project sponsors and subrecipients concerning financial reporting, invoicing, payments, and auditing.
• Provide training to others.
• Recruitment may be utilized to fill multiple roles within OVCR, RSP, Research Financial Services, and Post-Award units.

• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, University, State, Federal, and/or Non-Federal regulations related to sponsored programs, including Uniform Guidance and governmental cost accounting practices.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideally in Business, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.
• Prior experience in sponsored project award management is preferred.
• Experience in creating, interpreting, and analyzing financial reports is preferred.
• Familiarity with complex financial systems and office software such as Workday, Microsoft products, and Perceptive Content is preferred.
• Experience with Workday and RAMP is preferred.
• Must verify eligibility for employment in the United States by the effective date of appointment.
• Employment may necessitate a criminal background check.
