This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare, analyze, and post both recurring and non-recurring journal entries to the general ledger.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, which include bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and fixed assets.
• Aid in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing processes in compliance with GAAP and company deadlines.
• Carry out monthly variance analysis on expense accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules, overseeing capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
• Monitor aging reports, manage outstanding balances, and carry out collection efforts.
• Accurately process and apply incoming customer payments to the appropriate accounts.
• Address customer billing inquiries, payment discrepancies, and short payments.
• Review, code, and input vendor invoices.
• Prepare payment runs for managerial approval.
• Reconcile vendor statements and manage credit applications.
• Prepare and process annual 1099 filings.
• Perform reconciliations between inventory sub-ledgers and the general ledger, investigating any variances.
• Track inventory movements, valuation adjustments, and entries related to scrap/shrinkage.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle count audits.
• Assist in monitoring product margins, landed costs, and the accuracy of COGS.
• Provide support for internal and external audit requests.
• Maintain internal accounting controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Identify opportunities for automating routines, streamlining closing procedures, and optimizing ERP reporting.
• Support tax compliance and the submission of sales tax.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in general ledger, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR).
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP principles and procedures related to the general ledger.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction across departments and with external vendors/customers.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Experience in inventory accounting is highly desirable.
