Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for accurate and timely monthly and annual financial closures across consolidation entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and maintaining audit-ready documentation.

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing cycles according to established schedules with zero material errors.

• Prepare and record over 50 monthly journal entries, ensuring complete supporting documentation and GL reconciliation within a 48-hour timeframe.

• Reconcile more than 15 balance sheet accounts monthly, investigate any discrepancies, and maintain roll-forward schedules for accruals.

• Oversee and reconcile bank accounts, AR/AP subledgers, and fixed asset registers in alignment with the general ledger.

• Accurately document fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers, and calculate monthly depreciation with a zero variance tolerance.

• Assist with internal and external audits by providing organized, cross-referenced documentation within 48 hours of request.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and month-end closing processes (CA, CMA, or 3+ years of staff-level accounting experience).

• Proficient in ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

• Advanced skills in Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, nested formulas; capability to independently create reconciliation trackers.

• Experience in preparing journal entries and conducting reconciliations within multi-entity or consolidation environments.

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors prior to submission and maintain thorough audit trails.

• CA (Qualified) or a CA Fresher credential is a plus.

• Previous experience in a private equity portfolio company or multi-entity consolidation environment is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Sage Intacct or NetSuite is a nice-to-have.
