SRE – Platform Infrastructure Engineer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, upkeep, and enhancement of infrastructure systems utilizing Kubernetes and AWS.

• Oversee system performance and aid in diagnosing issues in both production and staging environments.

• Play a role in enhancing observability by utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent solutions.

• Automate repetitive tasks and enhance developer workflows through scripting or other tools.

• Engage in on-call shadowing and incident reviews to understand how reliability is upheld in production systems.

• Collaborate with engineers to pinpoint bottlenecks and enhance system performance and scalability.

• Aid in the creation of documentation and assist in the maintenance of operational runbooks.

• Investigate and test AI and automation tools to boost engineering productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Fundamental understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS), Linux systems, and networking principles.

• Familiarity with at least one programming language (such as Golang, Python, or similar).

• Basic knowledge of database concepts (MySQL, PostgreSQL) is advantageous.

• Exposure to containerization (Docker) and/or Kubernetes is beneficial.

• Keen interest in distributed systems, reliability, and infrastructure engineering.

• Strong analytical skills and a desire to learn.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
