This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and resolve intricate production challenges across application, database, and infrastructure layers.

• Address and fix software and SQL performance issues escalated by support teams.

• Enhance SQL Server performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.

• Establish and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to uphold platform reliability standards.

• Spearhead platform enhancements aimed at scalability, reliability, and operational health.

• Create and sustain runbooks, playbooks, and observability frameworks to minimize mean time to resolution (MTTR).

• Oversee system performance and proactively pinpoint risk areas utilizing SolarWinds DPA, Splunk, and New Relic.

• Advocate for the automation of toil reduction, capacity planning, and self-healing infrastructure patterns leveraging Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.

• Administer and optimize containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes in Azure cloud settings.

• Direct incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident evaluations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate findings to executive stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of software engineering experience with significant production support and SRE/platform engineering exposure.

• Advanced proficiency in C# and .NET Core 8.0.

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, query optimization, and execution plan tuning.

• Practical experience with Azure cloud services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Service Bus, and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).

• Strong expertise in containerization and orchestration utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform for cloud provisioning and environment management.

• Direct experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

• Demonstrable experience in defining and working against SLOs, error budgets, and reliability targets.

• Familiarity with SolarWinds DPA, Splunk, and New Relic.

• Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and fault-tolerant architecture patterns.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to present to executive audiences.
