SRE Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Administration, operation, and evolution of container platforms based on Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, and/or EKS, utilizing GitOps methodologies.

• Maintenance and optimization of continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or equivalent tools.

• Management of deployments, upgrades, configurations, migrations, backups, and maintenance activities for the platforms.

• Advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex incidents in distributed and high-availability environments.

• Monitoring the health, capacity, performance, and availability of production environments, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Participation in defining and implementing operational standards, observability, security, and automation.

• Automation of operational tasks, deployments, and infrastructure using Ansible and Helm.

• Development of automation scripts and utilities using Python and Shell Script.

• Collaboration with Development, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, and Operations teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Kubernetes SRE, preferably in managed and multi-tenant service environments.

• Strong experience in administering and operating Kubernetes and/or OpenShift platforms in production environments.

• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD processes and practical experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or similar tools.

• Experience working with GitOps methodologies.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex incidents in distributed, containerized, and microservices architectures.

• Experience in Day 2 operations automation and infrastructure management as code.

• Proficiency in Ansible and Helm.

• Experience developing automation using Python and/or Shell Script.

• Solid knowledge of Git and continuous integration and deployment practices.

• Experience working in hybrid, cloud, and on-premise environments.

• Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills with multidisciplinary teams.

• Preferred: experience managing cloud environments in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.

• Preferred: experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Preferred: knowledge of observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, or OpenTelemetry.

• Preferred: experience with logging and analysis platforms like Elastic Stack.

• Preferred: knowledge of security applied to Kubernetes and containers, including hardening, RBAC, security policies, secret management, and vulnerability scanning.

• Preferred: experience with backup and recovery solutions for Kubernetes environments.

• Preferred: certifications related to Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud, or DevOps such as CKA, CKAD, RHCSA, RHCE, AWS, or Azure.

• Preferred: experience with automation orchestration platforms like Rundeck, AWX, or Ansible Automation Platform.
