This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Assist in the implementation, support, and deployment of Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
• Plan and execute software and hardware modifications approved by customers.
• Evaluate user needs and create cost-effective technical specifications.
• Install and test SQL Server software along with associated products in collaboration with application providers.
• Implement both new and updated systems for clients.
• Maintain a standardized methodology for infrastructure planning and installation.
• Generate systems documentation in accordance with Atos processes and standards.
• Adhere to ITIL change management protocols for development and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor infrastructure services and identify areas for improvement and preventive maintenance.
• Develop and maintain the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring security, health, performance, and operational readiness.
• Execute data loads and carry out data modeling for various development teams.
• Apply patches and hot fixes to SQL Server.
• Troubleshoot issues related to blocking, disk space, failed jobs, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Oversee database backups, recovery, restoration, and disaster recovery plans.
• Restore databases between production and testing environments.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Create and schedule database jobs.
• Conduct SQL performance tuning, including query analysis, index identification, and statistics utilization.
• Deploy scripts in production settings.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot replication and disaster recovery tasks.
• Prior experience with Microsoft SQL Server projects, including infrastructure implementation and deployment.
• In-depth understanding of SQL infrastructures, encompassing SQL Server versions 2008–2019.
• Proven experience in patching and upgrading SQL versions.
• At least 3 years of experience in setting up and maintaining production Microsoft SQL Server instances.
• Strong expertise in SQL database performance tuning.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SQL failover clustering, log shipping, and mirroring.
• Proficient in database backup and recovery technologies, including their implementation and maintenance.
• Experience with setting up replication and using DTS/SSIS.
• Familiarity with configuring database monitoring using SQL native or third-party software.
• Background in large-scale infrastructure transition and transformation projects.
• Experience installing and configuring SQL Reporting Services, SQL Management Studio, and associated tools.
• Knowledge of setting up database backups and performing database recovery.
• Experience with database upgrades, migrations, and patching.
• Proven success in optimizing SQL database performance and advising application teams on SQL query tuning.
• Experience in automating database-related tasks.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Strong documentation capabilities.
• Focused on customer service and delivery.
• MCSE certification is preferred.
• Microsoft Certification is desirable.
• Familiarity with Oracle and DB2 LUW database technologies is advantageous.
• Understanding of Windows Server configuration is desirable.
