This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer strategic direction on intricate casualty claims
• Guide and develop adjusters
• Ensure claims are managed with excellence, uniformity, and a strong focus on customer service
• Partner with internal stakeholders, agents, and insured parties to provide outstanding service while making informed claim decisions
• Manage costs and uphold EMC's claims philosophy
• Examine specialty casualty claims to guarantee thorough investigations, accurate coverage analysis, reserving, and resolution strategies
• Allocate claims based on their complexity and the adjuster's expertise to enhance claim outcomes
• Offer guidance on intricate coverage, liability, compensability, claim valuation, and litigation issues
• Manage highly complex specialty casualty claims as necessary
• Review and approve reservation of rights and denial letters
• Assist in selecting legal counsel and oversee litigated claims
• Ensure claim files adhere to company best practices, regulatory standards, and reserving guidelines
• Authorize reserves and claim payments within designated authority levels while managing claim and expense costs
• Identify claims that need escalation to the Claims Committee, coverage counsel, subrogation, or specialty roundtables
• Oversee team workload, productivity, performance metrics, and quality of file documentation
• Conduct hiring, performance management, coaching, development planning, and succession planning activities
• Cultivate an inclusive, innovative team culture that fosters employee growth and ongoing improvement
• Develop strong relationships with agents, insured parties, and internal business partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Marketing, Claims Leadership, and agency partners to identify trends, enhance EMC's claims brand, and support business growth
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Eight years of experience in casualty claims adjusting or related fields, including a minimum of six years in specialty casualty claims handling
• Experience with Public Officials Liability, Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), and Law Enforcement Liability claims is highly preferred
• Must obtain all applicable state licenses as required
• Previous leadership experience is preferred
• Insurance designations such as INS, AIC, and CPCU are preferred
