This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design and develop printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies, utilizing inputs and insights from electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing process engineers.
• Position components within designated size constraints and route metal traces connecting these components.
• Conduct milestone reviews with stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Release PCB and CCA documentation and drawings.
• Position and route components while adhering to electrical and physical design requirements.
• Ensure that manufacturing and assembly standards are satisfied.
• Create and produce drawings and documentation necessary for PCB fabrication and assembly.
• Modify PCB designs in response to engineering design changes and assist in resolving issues.
• Revise drawings and documentation in accordance with engineering change requests.
• Develop ECAD library footprints and schematic symbols as needed.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Several years of experience in PCB design or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience related to PCB design.
• Proficient skills and experience with ECAD software applications and associated equipment.
• Experience with Siemens Xpedition software is preferred.
• Familiarity with PCB design technologies, PCB layout methodologies, electrical schematics, and PCB fabrication and assembly documentation.
• Practical understanding of IPC design standards, including design for manufacturability.
• Knowledge of ASME/ANSI documentation standards.
• Familiarity with IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610 standards.
• IT experience supporting backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.
• An Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or IPC CID certification is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is advantageous.
