This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Specialist Manager oversees a team of Sales Specialists tasked with driving growth in designated disciplines, products, and higher education markets.
• This position emphasizes building a high-performing team that collaborates closely with sales representatives and regional leaders to pinpoint opportunities, implement strategic sales initiatives, and secure complex, high-value business deals.
• The Specialist Manager offers coaching, guidance, and field support throughout the sales process, which includes customer presentations, opportunity strategies, and closing plans.
• Additionally, this role acts as the main point of contact between the Sales Specialist team and Marketing and Editorial, ensuring that market insights from the field inform product strategy while providing specialists with the necessary resources and messaging to meet sales objectives and initiatives.
• Achieving success in this position demands strong cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, talent development, and sales forecasting capabilities.
• The Specialist Manager is expected to travel as necessary to support customer meetings, coach and assess team members, and engage in regional and national conferences, sales meetings, training events, and other business activities, especially during peak selling seasons.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in Sales Specialist/Sales Management.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven success in college sales.
• Capability to work effectively both independently and in collaboration with field sales teams and Marketing/Editorial.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively and flexibly.
• Demonstrated success in the relevant disciplines is preferred.
• Proficient in communicating and collaborating across functional areas to achieve results.
• Proven experience in coaching sales representatives and fostering relationships.
• Ability to formulate and implement sales strategies that promote growth and meet business objectives.
• Competence in developing precise sales forecasts and managing pipeline performance to meet business goals.
• Proficiency in utilizing AI tools and sales technologies to enhance team productivity and sales effectiveness.
