General Manager – Aerospace & Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the strategy for P-1 AI's growth in the aerospace & defense sector, focusing on customer acquisition, partnerships, market positioning, and sustainable growth.

• Take responsibility for the P&L of the aerospace & defense division, which includes setting revenue goals, driving growth initiatives, managing budgets, and overseeing operational performance.

• Cultivate relationships with engineering leaders, executives, program managers, and government representatives within aerospace & defense primes, startups, and government clients.

• Identify, negotiate, and oversee strategic partnerships that enhance customer acquisition, program delivery, and data accessibility.

• Collaborate closely with clients and deployed engineers to convert real-world engineering challenges into product specifications and new capabilities for Archie.

• Establish the necessary personnel, processes, and systems to function within regulated defense environments, adhering to ITAR, NISPOM, and other industrial security standards.

• Lay the groundwork for P-1 Defense, including team organization, customer workflows, and operational rhythms as the business grows.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have managed P&L for a business unit, startup, or significant program.

• You have successfully taken products, programs, or business portfolios from inception to maturity (0→1, ideally 0→10).

• You have experience in negotiating and finalizing complex agreements involving multiple stakeholders and lengthy sales processes.

• You can engage credibly with engineers, operators, executives, and government clients without altering your authentic self.

• You have established and nurtured senior-level relationships within defense primes, government entities, or strategic industry partners.

• You possess fluency in modern AI technologies and maintain connections within the AI ecosystem.

• You exhibit exceptional urgency, independence, and a strong inclination toward proactive action.

• You qualify for a US government security clearance, with an existing clearance being advantageous.
