Specialist Advanced Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the team on software development initiatives and engage with other teams to deliver top-tier software solutions.

• Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance the quality, efficiency, and robustness of both existing and new software applications.

• Deploy cloud-based enterprise software across global data centers utilizing pipeline technologies.

• Identify optimal software design and architecture for various projects.

• Assist customers in achieving their objectives through software services.

• Act as a senior technical authority and trusted consultant within engineering departments.

• Facilitate architecture discussions and set enterprise engineering standards, frameworks, and best practices.

• Guide and nurture engineers through coaching, code evaluations, technical design advice, and knowledge sharing.

• Propel innovation, modernization, cloud transformation, and strategies for adopting AI.

• Collaborate with product, architecture, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to provide essential business solutions.

• Advocate for engineering excellence, operational maturity, resilience, and continuous enhancement.

• Oversee complex technical projects from conception to production deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, security, and maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution and ten (10) years of progressive software engineering experience in Java/J2EE enterprise application development, OR a High School Diploma/GED and fourteen (14) years of progressive software engineering experience in the same field.

• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, mission-critical, cloud-native enterprise applications.

• Profound knowledge of Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Microservices Architecture, RESTful APIs, and Event-Driven Systems.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting and delivering high-volume, highly available, distributed systems within public cloud environments, preferably AWS.

• Substantial hands-on experience with Generative AI solutions, incorporating Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and orchestration frameworks.

• Experience in developing and integrating AI-powered enterprise platforms and intelligent automation solutions.

• Familiarity with multi-cloud architectures and deployments across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Advanced skills in containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).

• Proficiency with AWS services, including S3, RDS PostgreSQL, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, IAM, and SNS/SQS.

• Strong background in designing and implementing solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases, focusing on performance tuning, scalability, resilience, and data architecture patterns.

• Expertise with PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch in large-scale distributed environments.

• Experience in designing and supporting highly available, horizontally scalable data platforms utilizing Cassandra and other distributed database technologies.

• Knowledgeable in asynchronous processing, event streaming, and messaging platforms, including Apache Kafka.

• Familiar with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices using Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Strong understanding of secure coding practices, test automation, CI/CD, observability and monitoring, performance optimization, and reliability engineering.

• Proven track record of leading architecture reviews, establishing technical roadmaps, and promoting engineering excellence across multiple teams.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills for conveying technical concepts to executive, business, product, and engineering audiences.

• Must qualify for and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and fulfill applicable government access requirements.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without the need for employment visa sponsorship.

• Experience in the healthcare industry with HL7, FHIR, X12, EMR/EHR integrations, and HIPAA-compliant systems may be advantageous.

• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability platforms and high-volume transaction processing systems may enhance success.

• Experience with MinIO, Kafka, OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, Zero Trust, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Agile, Scrum, and SAFe may contribute to success.

• Demonstrated capability to mentor senior engineers, lead cross-functional teams, and provide technical leadership may aid success.
