This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Deliver tailored elementary special education course content in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance customized to meet students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Foster relationships with families, students, and learning coaches.
• Ensure the provision of special education and related services as outlined by the IEP team.
• Engage with parents and related service staff regarding necessary therapies.
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and essential special education documentation.
• Facilitate and lead collaborative meetings for special education, including annual IEP meetings.
• Implement accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text.
• Adjust Stride K12 lessons and assessments in accordance with IEP specifications.
• Promote student inclusion and achievement within general education classrooms.
• Gather data and work samples to assess progress towards IEP objectives.
• Record parent communications and student interventions.
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies.
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of performance issues.
• Prepare students for significant standardized tests.
• Maintain regular communication and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with other educators and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active teaching license/certification from Oklahoma.
• Endorsement in Special Education.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• 0–1 year of relevant professional experience.
• Residency in Oklahoma is necessary.
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions.
• Availability to work during school-defined hours, generally from 9–5 or 8–4.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and/or school obligations.
• Ability to collaborate with educators and utilize student data to inform instructional choices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
