This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee and deliver instructional support, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a designated group of students.
• Create, document, and assist in the implementation of IEPs and 504 plans.
• Assess tests and evaluations, finalize report cards, and facilitate parent conferences.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and learning coaches of students with special needs to ensure that their IEP goals are being achieved and their needs are met promptly and appropriately.
• Collaborate with teachers to coordinate the delivery of specially designed instruction as outlined in the IEP for students with specific needs and potential learning challenges.
• Provide direct services to students, including services offered through web-conferencing software as necessary.
• Organize, schedule, and conduct IEP-related meetings in a virtual setting as required.
• Engage with the school’s Student Support Team; assist teachers and learning coaches in developing and implementing program modifications and strategies for all students.
• Support the organization and proper execution of all paperwork, documentation, and processes related to the IEP.
• Aid in identifying service providers for students in need of related services as stipulated by their IEPs.
• Assist in negotiating and finalizing contracts with service providers for students requiring these services.
• Keep accurate and current data in the school’s Learning Management System and special education software.
• Help administer state testing and coordinate the necessary special adaptations based on the IEP.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related educational field.
• A valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Exceptional Student Education K-12 is mandatory.
• One of the following additional certifications: Mathematics 6-12 or Elementary Education K-6.
• ESOL Certification or Endorsement is required.
• ESE K-12 certification is required.
• Experience with policy (IDEA) and/or administration in Special Education is preferred.
• Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products.
• A customer-focused mindset.
• High level of adaptability and flexibility.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated history of being a team player.
• Willingness to travel across the state for state testing administration (may involve overnight travel).
