Spanish to English Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ecuador.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or altering information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between clients with Limited English Proficiency and the service provider by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader effectively.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) is essential.

• Security Clearance is required (assistance will be provided to obtain it, if needed).

• Must possess either citizenship or a Green Card.

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language (Spanish).

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology is required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications related to the healthcare field (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) are a plus.

• High school diploma in your native language is necessary.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are required.
