This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +30 more states.
• Carry out all responsibilities associated with the position in accordance with Slingshot’s core values, mission, and purpose.
• Conduct system-level design, simulation, and integration of hardware components to develop state-of-the-art space surveillance systems.
• Create algorithms and software aimed at automating and enhancing the tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination of sensor data.
• Assist in the ongoing and future transitions of Slingshot’s products and services to the Slingshot Global Sensor Network (SGSN), space operations centers, and various technology testbeds.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for their critical mission needs.
• Offer your expertise and innovative ideas to contribute to the development of our products and strategies.
• Generate technical reports and briefing materials.
• Represent your team and Slingshot to a wider audience through presentations to customers and stakeholders.
• Act as a technical expert and key contributor to the development of Slingshot’s space surveillance technology.
• Lead the successful delivery of individual projects, small team initiatives, and product development activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned (which will comprise less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above).
• Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, which may include a record of academic excellence along with relevant internship experience.
• Proficiency in developing applications using Python and/or C++.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to effectively convey complex details about advanced technology to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time within and outside the United States to support customer engagements, technical exchanges, or sensor installations.
• A determined drive to tackle challenges and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
