Customer Delivery Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the most challenging aspects of customer adoption. Deliver tangible results swiftly.

• Oversee the delivery of customer projects.

• Execute migrations, optimize data, and design schemas.

• Define and carry out engagements with specific, measurable outcomes.

• Resolve intricate technical issues.

• Optimize slow queries and configurations.

• Develop tactical fixes and scripts to quickly assist customers.

• Leverage AI to enhance engineering efficiency.

• Utilize copilots (LLMs, AI assistants) to create query rewrites and test optimizations.

• Develop reusable AI prompts and delivery playbooks.

• Connect architectural concepts with practical implementation.

• Convert reference architectures into tailored customer deployments.

• Adapt TigerData features (such as Hypertables, Hypercore, continuous aggregates, vector search) to actual workloads.

• Serve as the technical advocate for the customer.

• Ensure technical success throughout the project delivery process.

• Escalate issues to core Engineering only when there are product-level deficiencies.

• Document and disseminate knowledge.

• Create playbooks, scripts, and internal documentation.

• Provide feedback and insights to Product and Engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess extensive hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, particularly in SQL tuning, performance optimization, and schema design.

• Have successfully delivered complex migrations, data transformations, or optimizations within production environments.

• Be proficient in SQL and Python (or similar scripting languages for data tasks).

• Be at ease leading technical discussions with customers, particularly in high-pressure situations.

• Enjoy utilizing AI tools (copilots, LLMs) to accelerate query rewriting, code generation, or problem-solving.

• Communicate effectively and explain trade-offs to customers during critical moments.

• Bonus: experience in Implementation Engineering, Integration Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Professional Services, or Technical Consulting.
