Sourcing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Assist in sourcing activities by identifying and evaluating potential suppliers; facilitate the onboarding process in accordance with established strategic guidelines.

• Collaborate across functions during the new product development process to collect requirements and issue RFQs; offer data-driven supplier recommendations for management consideration.

• Aid in negotiations for supply agreements to secure optimal terms while minimizing risk; monitor supplier compliance with contracts; enter and manage contracts within the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.

• Establish the framework for supplier engagement and pricing, ensuring the Purchasing team has a clearly defined and documented structure to execute tactical purchase orders.

• Build and nurture relationships with strategic national brand, private-label, and contract manufacturing suppliers.

• Manage a comprehensive supplier performance program to evaluate supply performance; collaborate with suppliers to resolve both situational and systemic performance challenges.

• Communicate any quality or performance issues to suppliers; strive to understand and report the implications of these issues on organizational costs and timelines.

• Leverage data and analytics to uncover cost reduction opportunities across the product portfolio; engage Supply Chain leadership to formulate execution strategies.

• Recommend strategies for sourcing and managing raw materials and components to enhance cost efficiency and supply continuity.

• Track market trends and commodity pricing to provide insights to Supply Chain leadership for strategic adjustments. Maintain contract pricing within the NetSuite ERP system.

• Report on Sourcing KPIs; collaborate cross-functionally to identify opportunities for performance enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sourcing position supporting both internally manufactured and externally procured finished goods; experience in a high-SKU distribution environment is preferred.

• Preferred experience in international sourcing.

• Experience in medical products distribution is advantageous.

• Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
