• Formulate and execute effective purchasing strategies to acquire trucks and associated equipment.
• Assess market trends to discover cost-efficient solutions that align with the company’s requirements.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with truck manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure advantageous terms and maintain reliable supply chains.
• Perform comprehensive market research to stay updated on new truck models, technologies, and pricing trends.
• Analyze the competitive landscape to guide purchasing decisions.
• Oversee inventory levels of trucks and related equipment to ensure procurement aligns with operational needs.
• Design and maintain an effective inventory management system.
• Evaluate total cost of ownership, including maintenance, fuel efficiency, and resale value, to make well-informed purchasing choices.
• Generate financial reports and forecasts associated with truck procurement.
• Work closely with other departments, such as operations, finance, and logistics, to ensure purchasing decisions align with overall business objectives.
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies throughout the purchasing process.
• Keep precise records of purchases and supplier agreements.
• Demonstrated experience in truck purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within the transportation or logistics sector.
• Strong negotiation capabilities with a proven history of securing favorable terms and fostering positive supplier relationships.
• Outstanding analytical skills to assess market conditions, evaluate suppliers, and analyze costs.
