Sourcing Manager – Contract Manufacturing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Function as the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Contract Manufacturing.

• Spearhead the global sourcing strategy for contract manufacturing.

• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the provision of efficient and effective sourcing solutions.

• Develop Strategic Sourcing Go-To-Market planning that aligns with both Business and Category Strategies.

• Perform comprehensive market analysis, overseeing and managing the sourcing process.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure cohesive sourcing activities.

• Engage with suppliers to secure optimal terms and enhance performance.

• Create and implement global strategic sourcing initiatives, focusing on cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk management.

• Lead supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management (from start to finish) to guarantee best-in-class procurement practices.

• Analyze extensive datasets related to procurement, supplier performance, and market trends to uncover cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.

• Employ data analytics tools to derive insights, compile reports, and support strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.

• Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader throughout the organization.

• Establish and nurture key supplier relationships to enhance quality, foster innovation, and create long-term value.

• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, risk mitigation strategies, and sustainability initiatives.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and suppliers, showcasing strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to an environment of continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 1 year of Sourcing experience OR Master’s degree and 2 years of Sourcing experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of Sourcing experience OR Associate’s degree and 5 years of Sourcing experience OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Sourcing experience.

• Demonstrated Strategic Sourcing Experience.

• Strong skills in Supplier Negotiation.

• Familiarity with Global Procurement e-Sourcing and CLM Tools (e.g., Workday Strategic Sourcing, Sirion Labs).

• Project Management Experience – capable of leading teams across geographic and functional boundaries.

• Proven leadership in sourcing Contract Manufacturing, including vendor management, cost optimization, and performance measurement.

• Experience negotiating with suppliers specific to this category in Life Sciences, which may occasionally involve Academic Institutions.

• Comprehensive understanding of sourcing management principles, supplier relationship management, and contract lifecycle management.

• Experience in leading large, cross-functional teams and managing complex global projects in a matrixed environment.

• Strong financial, legal, and contractual acumen to navigate Contract Manufacturing services agreements and achieve business-aligned outcomes.

• Exceptional ability to convey sourcing strategies and influence stakeholders effectively.

• Familiarity with procurement platforms such as Ariba, as well as ERP systems and advanced analytics tools to facilitate decision-making and process automation.

• Knowledge of regulatory landscapes with the capability to navigate and manage compliance requirements.
