Solutions Engineer

📋 Description

• Collaborating closely with the Account Executive to gain a comprehensive understanding of the prospect's technical landscape, challenges related to Cloud Data Platform costs, optimization objectives, and critical business goals through thorough technical discovery sessions.

• Taking ownership of the technical validation and Proof of Value (POV) initiatives for SELECT, which involves detailed POC preparation, proactive oversight, and ensuring successful technical results that illustrate clear value and alignment with the needs of the prospect.

• Customizing and presenting engaging SELECT platform demonstrations to potential clients, effectively highlighting its features and addressing their unique use cases and concerns.

• Utilizing your analytical expertise and in-depth knowledge of Cloud Data Platform to construct persuasive business cases and comprehensive ROI analyses that clearly demonstrate the achievable value, cost savings, and performance enhancements available with SELECT.

• Establishing yourself as the primary authority within the organization for SELECT, ensuring that prospects attain optimal results and enjoy a smooth implementation process.

• Fully owning the technical success for SELECT engagements, guiding prospects through the technical assessment phase, meeting all technical criteria, and instilling technical confidence in the solution.

• Representing DoiT and SELECT at corporate events and industry conferences, delivering captivating presentations and demonstrations to a broader audience, showcasing our expertise in Snowflake/Databricks (and soon BigQuery) optimization along with platform capabilities.

• Converting customer pain points and feature deficiencies into structured, technically credible feedback for R&D teams while representing the technical customer’s perspective in roadmap discussions.

• Ensuring the timely entry of data into internal business support systems and contributing to tools that provide essential business information and metrics to highlight performance and effectiveness.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a Solutions Engineering role within a B2B SaaS software company, with a substantial portion of that experience dedicated to selling to Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery users while addressing challenges related to Cloud Data Platforms or cloud cost management.

• Profound and demonstrable knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, along with associated best practices.

• Practical experience with SaaS solutions focusing on Cloud Data Platforms, particularly in the areas of observability, optimization, FinOps, or data integration.

• Exceptional data analysis capabilities with a proven track record of identifying key trends, outliers, and correlations, as well as translating those findings into actionable insights.

• Strong history of utilizing product data to develop compelling business cases and ROI justifications for potential customers, clearly illustrating the significant cost savings and performance improvements achievable through our solution.

• Outstanding ability to convey complex concepts related to Cloud Data Platforms and SELECT functionalities in a clear, concise, and easily digestible manner for both technical and business audiences.

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, possessing the confidence and expertise to present on intricate topics such as Cloud Data Platform optimization strategies and the compelling value proposition of SELECT.

• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement within the dynamic Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery ecosystem.

• Proven experience engaging with and presenting to executive-level prospects and customers on critical topics related to Cloud Data Platforms, particularly cost management.

• Demonstrated experience with modern technical selling methodologies and a successful track record in competitive sales settings, including the ability to contribute to and implement effective trial, demo, and RFP processes specifically geared towards Cloud Data Platform optimization solutions like SELECT.

• Previous professional experience as a Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery data engineer/architect or FinOps specialist is advantageous.

• A proven record of success in a fast-paced, scaling business environment, ideally within the Cloud Data Platform ecosystem.
