Solutions Architect – Public Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the sales team to assist customers in understanding how Databricks can address their business challenges.

• Offer technical guidance to customers for evaluating and adopting Databricks solutions.

• Advise on big data architecture, execute proof of concepts for key customer projects, and validate integrations with cloud services as well as other third-party applications, including data science and machine learning initiatives.

• Develop and present reference architectures, how-to guides, and demo applications for customers.

• Become proficient in and advocate for Databricks-inspired open-source projects (such as Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Koalas) within developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars.

• Travel to client locations within your region.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting capacity.

• Proficient in designing and architecting distributed data systems.

• Skilled in programming and debugging with at least one of the following: Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R.

• Experience working with Public Sector clients.

• Proven track record of building solutions using public cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).

• Knowledge of Data Warehousing (e.g., SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).

• [Preferred] Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research).

• Must be a US Citizen.
