This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Customer Engagement: Act as a reliable advisor for clients, assisting them with their data engineering and data architecture requirements, particularly focusing on Databricks solutions. In this position, you will allocate your time equally between billable and pre-sales activities.

• Technical Leadership: Develop, construct, and implement comprehensive data solutions designed to capture, transform, and utilize data to bolster AI, ML, and business intelligence initiatives.

• Pre-Sales Support: Work alongside sales teams to showcase technical solutions to potential clients, highlighting the benefits of SunnyData's offerings.

• Project Oversight: Oversee multiple customer accounts, ensuring solutions are delivered promptly and monitoring progress to communicate outcomes.

• Solution Design: Design data solutions that integrate best practices in data governance, security, and quality.

• Data Analysis: Assess data sources for their value, proposing data inclusion strategies to improve analytical workflows.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership: Guide internal teams, offering direction and mentorship to project groups for effective solution delivery and educating end users on data products and analytical environments.

• Problem Resolution: Conduct system analyses, evaluate and rectify data and system defects, and implement necessary corrections.

• Quality Assurance: Verify data movement, transformation code, and data components to guarantee accuracy and dependability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as a hands-on Solutions Architect with a background in Data Security or related fields. Proficient in two or more of the following areas: Cloud Security, Cloud Networking, Encryption, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.

• Infrastructure and Security: Experience designing data platforms on cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), employing best practices in cloud security and networking.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka), the Databricks platform, cloud platforms, security, automation, networking, or identity management.

• Architecture and Leadership Skills: Comprehensive understanding of the complete data analytics workflow (e.g., data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration) using modern data engineering methods; capability to lead complex architectural requirements (discovery), solution design sessions, and create implementation architecture blueprints for data engineering and analytics teams.

• DevOps/DevSecOps: Familiarity with SDLC tools like Github, Gitlab, Continuous Inspection tools such as SonarQube, and Artifact Management tools like Artifactory.

• IaC Tools: Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.

• Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

• SQL Expertise: Capability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries.

• Client-Facing Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with a background in client-facing roles.

• Presentation Skills: Competence in creating and delivering comprehensive presentations to clients and stakeholders.

• Documentation: Experience in producing detailed solution documentation, including POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.

• Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading teams and mentoring other engineers.

• End-to-End Solutions: Ability to develop complete technical solutions for production, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration.
