This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year technology vision and architectural roadmap for Finance.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership to ensure that technology investments align with business strategies.
• Establish and refine architecture principles, standards, governance, and reusable design patterns.
• Oversee solution design for strategic initiatives, guiding intricate technical decisions.
• Provide technical direction across the Finance technology portfolio to promote architectural consistency.
• Lead a small, high-impact team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, innovation, and ongoing learning.
• Assess emerging technologies and potential vendor partnerships strategically.
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to executive and business stakeholders.
• Spearhead the responsible integration of AI across software architecture, development, testing, documentation, and operations.
• Set measurable outcomes for AI-enabled engineering that enhance productivity, quality, and developer experience.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, architecture, or technology leadership.
• Required experience with Duck Creek billing platform, payment systems, accounting applications, or other financial software.
• Demonstrated success in leading architecture for large-scale, mission-critical enterprise platforms.
• Proven experience in developing and leading high-performing technical teams.
• Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
• Extensive knowledge in enterprise architecture, cloud-native platforms (preferably AWS), APIs, event-driven and distributed architectures, modern integration patterns, and engineering platforms.
• Experience managing modern cloud and engineering ecosystems, including infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, security, automation, and developer productivity platforms.
• Background in leading modernization or digital transformation efforts.
• Experience in adopting AI-enabled engineering practices and modern software delivery methods across engineering teams.
• Ability to think strategically while being sufficiently hands-on to guide critical technical decisions.
• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly in Personal Lines P&C, is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
