• In the role of Principal Solutions Architect at GitLab’s global Solutions Architecture Center of Excellence, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and pre-sales collaborator, assisting customers in realizing the full potential of GitLab’s AI-driven DevSecOps platform.
• You will tackle intricate challenges throughout the software lifecycle by integrating GitLab, AI agents, security, and cloud-native functionalities to achieve tangible business results, guiding clients through digital transformation and contemporary software delivery.
• Reporting to the Senior Director and functioning as the AI subject matter expert within a team of specialists, you will take charge of the technical strategy for key accounts, spearhead value stream and Proof of Value (PoV) engagements, and act as the technical “CTO” for those accounts.
• During your first year, your focus will be on facilitating successful platform evaluations and adoption as part of the pre-sales process, shaping AI-driven solution architectures, influencing product direction through field feedback, and creating reusable assets while providing thought leadership to elevate GitLab’s technical standards on a global scale.
• Profound understanding of the most strategic elements of GitLab’s product and customer personas, while empowering the field with domain expertise.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AI, including the design or implementation of AI-powered solutions, advising on AI adoption, or acting as an AI subject matter expert for clients or internal teams.
• Background in technical pre-sales, software consulting, or comparable roles where you link complex technology to business results.
• Solid foundation in modern software development or operations, encompassing CI/CD, DevSecOps practices, and related tools.
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and architectures, and how cloud services integrate into secure and scalable application delivery.
• Capability to design and articulate technical architectures that span multiple teams and phases of the software lifecycle, from planning to monitoring.
• Proficiency in leading technical evaluations and workshops (such as proofs of value or solution design sessions) involving diverse stakeholders, from engineers to executives.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to function as a trusted advisor and customer advocate across sales, product, and engineering teams.
• Willingness to learn and grow, with a history of building new skills over time; candidates with transferable experience in adjacent domains (such as security, data, or cloud architecture) are encouraged to apply.
