Solution Architect – SASE/SDWAN, Territory Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of the Fortinet portfolio, enabling the demonstration and communication of both technical and business value. Strategically position all of Fortinet's offerings, with a focus on the designated solution domain(s).

• Generate sales opportunities by pinpointing solutions to customer challenges and aiding in the qualification of sales leads from a technical standpoint. Identify chances for upselling and cross-selling Fortinet solutions, while initiating and influencing project decisions.

• Oversee solution domain use cases, competitive insights, and differentiation. Maintain product integration and customization expertise, including relevant third-party integrations.

• Direct all solution-related aspects of the technical sales engagement, ranging from general inquiries to demonstrations, RfX, and PoC’s concerning solution features, specifications, functionality, and integration. Offer architecture and implementation design consultation along with best practice advice for strategic opportunities.

• Have a solid foundational knowledge of security and networking technologies, particularly regarding our "core technology," which includes FortiOS-based products.

• Serve as a trusted advisor for selected accounts, working closely with the regional escalation manager, technical support team, and engineering to ensure that customer technical issues are addressed and resolved effectively.

• Collaborate with colleagues, Consulting System Engineers (CSEs), Systems Engineers (Subject Matter Experts), Business Consultants, Professional Services, and/or Partners on intricate opportunities. Capture and manage customer requirements through the Consulting System Engineering Team to Product Management.

• Assist with PreSales, Sales, and Channel enablement initiatives and events.


⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in networking (LAN, WIFI, WAN, SDN, routing, switching) and network security (Next-Gen Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, encryption protocols).

• At least 5 years of experience as an IT Security Consultant or Architect, showcasing proven success.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in hyperscale infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Strong customer orientation to tackle complex technical and business needs, combined with a self-driven, positive attitude and entrepreneurial mindset. Goal-oriented, adaptable to changing priorities, demands, and timelines.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead a team in a collaborative setting.

• Capability to interact with senior levels of both internal and external organizations is essential.

• Expert-level verbal and written communication, presentation, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.

• Foundational knowledge in the following areas:

• - Datacenter architectures (e.g., ACI, NSX-T)

• - Security Architectures (e.g., Zero Trust, SASE)

• - Modern Software Architectures (e.g., DevOps, IaC)

• - Security Operations (e.g., Orchestration, Automation, SIEM Tools)

• - IT Security standards (e.g., BSI 200-x, ISO2700x, COBIT, NIST) and/or relevant regulations (EU-DSGVO, BDSG, NIS-2/KRITIS, CRA, AI Act).

• Proficient in both German and English languages.

• Willingness to travel 20-50% of the time.
