Solution Architect – Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Provide architectural leadership across the designated portfolio and align solution choices with business priorities and Enterprise Architecture direction.

• Guide delivery teams through architectural decisions, dependencies, sequencing, trade-offs, implementation strategies, and key milestones.

• Oversee portfolio planning by identifying dependencies, sequencing initiatives, and mitigating technology risk.

• Lead, develop, and optimize a team of approximately nine Solution Architects along with associated contract resources.

• Enhance the skills of Solution Architects through coaching, mentoring, architecture reviews, and career development initiatives.

• Take ownership of solution architecture development, implementation roadmaps, and transition planning.

• Ensure the architectural integrity, scalability, resilience, and maintainability of delivered solutions.

• Spearhead solution design and implementation planning for application modernization, cloud transformation, AI/GenAI initiatives, and engineering enhancements.

• Guarantee that solutions adhere to Enterprise Architecture standards, cybersecurity policies, risk management controls, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and partner with Engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk, Data, and Product teams.

• Translate intricate technical concepts into actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.

• Utilize architecture and operational metrics to assess solution effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

• Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns.

• Encourage technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and a culture of continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Over 12 years of progressive experience in Software Engineering, Application Architecture, or Solution Architecture.

• More than 5 years of leadership experience managing highly technical teams.

• Proven track record of progression from hands-on engineering roles into architecture and leadership positions.

• Experience collaborating with technology leaders, engineering teams, and business stakeholders on intricate technology initiatives.

• Strong skills in executive communication, stakeholder management, and influence.

• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale modernization and transformation projects in complex settings.

• In-depth expertise in Solution Architecture and application modernization.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies, integration, data management, security, DevSecOps, and AI-enabled solutions.

• Knowledgeable about Azure Cloud and Hybrid Cloud Platforms, API and Integration Architecture, Data Integration, DevSecOps and CI/CD, secure solution design, AI/GenAI, Agile and SAFe delivery, and banking risk, regulatory, and control frameworks.
