This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee comprehensive system design initiatives, encompassing specifications for systems, data, processes, and interfaces.
• Convert requirements into architectural frameworks that comply with VA enterprise standards.
• Direct cloud development initiatives and provide technical guidance on cloud-related projects.
• Implement SAFe methodologies throughout design, planning, and execution phases.
• Offer architecture and release planning support in collaboration with VA Product Managers.
• Manage and update architecture documentation within VA-approved repositories.
• Assist in strategic planning, risk management, schedule creation, and change/configuration management.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and ensure traceability.
• Lead activities related to release planning and security architecture reviews.
• Engage in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with VA stakeholders to realign priorities and modify delivery timelines.
• Draft and maintain technical documents and deliverables.
• Support product management tasks, feature prioritization, backlog refinement, and stakeholder engagement.
• Align project activities with long-term product objectives and VA mission requirements.
• Oversee change and configuration management activities in accordance with VA policies and governance processes.
• Assist in schedule planning and progress monitoring.
• Maintain and refresh Jira boards and dashboards, reporting on tasks and metrics.
• Act as the primary coordination point with the VA Product Manager.
• Prepare written documentation, presentations, and deliverables that clearly convey complex technical and programmatic information.
• Investigate specialized topics and propose solutions to government clients.
• Organize executive-level virtual meetings, including agendas, minutes, outcomes, and action items.
• Collaborate with the integrated PMO Support Team to share products, best practices, and relevant information.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–10 years of pertinent experience.
• Experience in IT project management with a focus on solution architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or VA cloud environments.
• Strong background in implementing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Experience with enterprise architecture tools and repositories.
• In-depth understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and release planning.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and interface directly with senior government stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to engage stakeholders.
• Ability to self-manage, balance workload, complete tasks punctually, proactively seek assignments, and suggest improvements.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in effective communication in English, including speaking and listening.
• Capability to work efficiently in a fully remote setting.
• Willingness to engage in virtual meetings throughout most of the workday and respond to MS Teams and MS Outlook messages promptly.
• Availability to work during Eastern time zone standard business hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST.
• Must be able to meet security clearance and onboarding requirements.
• Willingness to travel at personal expense to the nearest government facility for fingerprinting, PIV badge application and pickup, and government equipment pickup.
• SAFe certification, such as SAFe Scrum Master or SAFe Agilist, is required.
• PMP certification is mandatory.
• Experience in a federal contracting or governmental role is preferred.
