Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician, Level 3

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of solar energy systems.

• Offer mentorship and training to junior technicians while ensuring optimal operation of solar projects.

• Ensure that work complies with established safety protocols and procedures.

• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repair activities.

• Create and execute preventative maintenance programs.

• Supervise and educate junior technicians on inspection and maintenance protocols.

• Identify and resolve complex system issues, including challenges related to grid integration and communication.

• Employ advanced diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint and rectify system performance problems.

• Compile technical reports and presentations for management review.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.

• 2-4 years of experience in the solar industry or a related sector.

• OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e certifications are required.

• FAA Part 107 Certification is necessary.

• Proficient in operating drones for aerial thermographic applications.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, solar technologies, and grid-tied systems.

• Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and Isolation testers.

• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and engineering drawings.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Capable of leading junior technicians on-site.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
