Solar Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design of utility-scale solar projects across the country

• Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams and clients to create Solar PV design and construction packages

• Create solar array layouts, electrical one-lines, collection systems, collection system analyses, and installation details for utility-scale Solar PV systems

• Transform initial high-level designs into optimized versions prepared for construction

• Utilize internal tools and external software during the design process

• Play a role in developing internal solar engineering standards, toolsets, and workflow processes

• Engage in site visits and conferences to fulfill client needs and enhance relationships

• Assist in early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs

• Strategically contribute to the expansion of Ulteig’s Renewables Lifeline Sector®

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution

• EIT certification is preferred

• At least 2 years of experience in the solar sector

• Proficient in solar design software such as CYMCAP, PVFARM, SAM, and PVsyst

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Capability to present complex information clearly and effectively to employees, management, and clients

• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude

• Mandatory experience in estimating or designing electrical systems

• Preferred knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and construction methods

• Willingness to learn, understand, and implement new technologies

• Must possess the ability to work permanently in the US
