Software Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee multiple software development initiatives from their inception to successful completion.

• Develop and sustain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource distribution.

• Facilitate communication among the client team, engineering, and other involved parties.

• Actively identify and address project risks, dependencies, and obstacles.

• Review and refresh our project management system (Linear) and escalate significant blockers or risks to ensure timely project delivery.

• Conduct agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

• Monitor and communicate project progress, key performance indicators (KPIs), and milestones to leadership and stakeholders.

• Promote collaboration among distributed teams across various time zones.

• Advocate for best practices in software development and agile project management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects across various domains, including fintech, blockchain, AI/ML, SaaS, data science, and open-source.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience managing technical software projects in agile settings.

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).

• Familiarity with tools such as Linear is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to manage fully remote, distributed teams and coordinate efforts across different time zones.

• Excellent communication, organizational, relationship management, and influencing skills.

• Technical proficiency and the capability to work closely with engineering teams.
