This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of, manage, and prioritize the team backlog to ensure it aligns with product strategy, the technical roadmap, and business objectives.
• Convert business needs, customer feedback, and product priorities into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items.
• Establish sprint objectives and assist the team in delivering incremental value during each iteration.
• Engage actively in SAFe ceremonies, such as PI Planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, system demonstrations, and inspect-and-adapt sessions.
• Work collaboratively with Product Management, Portfolio, Solution Designers, Business Analysts, UX/UI, QA, and development teams to shape, refine, and deliver product capabilities.
• Ensure that backlog items are clearly understood, appropriately sized, sequenced, and ready for delivery.
• Make well-informed product decisions at the team level and offer clear prioritization guidance to the development team.
• Decompose larger features or value streams into smaller, deliverable increments of value.
• Assist in aligning testing, quality, usability, and delivery expectations across teams.
• Validate completed work against acceptance criteria and ensure that outcomes align with business and customer expectations.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and obstacles, and work with stakeholders to find resolutions.
• Advocate for continuous improvement and contribute to Agile maturity within the team.
• A solid understanding of Agile delivery practices, especially within a SAFe framework.
• Proven experience in managing and prioritizing a team backlog.
• Capability to translate business and customer requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Strong collaboration skills with technical teams, business units, QA, UX/UI, and portfolio stakeholders.
• Good grasp of the software development lifecycle, quality practices, and product delivery processes.
• Ability to weigh business value, technical feasibility, risk, and delivery capacity when prioritizing tasks.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to make decisions, provide clear direction, and assertively decline requests when necessary, backed by solid business rationale.
• Experience in participating in PI Planning or similar cross-team planning activities is a plus.
