Software Maintenance Engineer – Technical Support, Linux, Kubernetes, Mandarin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Provide support to Red Hat's customers for various network-related challenges regarding Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and hybrid cloud solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues across various components such as packet loss, bonding and teaming, IPv4 and IPv6, Control Groups, and firewalls (iptables).

• Enhance expertise through comprehensive onboarding, which includes obtaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Certifications.

• Continuously develop skills to stay abreast of technological advancements and new products and features within Red Hat's offerings.

• Collaborate with in-house support engineers and developers on customer cases to encourage innovative solutions.

• Contribute to the global knowledge management system at Red Hat.

• Work with colleagues on side projects and help drive the success of the global team.

• Manage workload effectively to ensure all customer issues are addressed and resolved.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience with Linux in the enterprise sector.

• Professional experience as a support, sustaining, or development engineer, or in a related role in an enterprise environment.

• Experience in installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Linux operating systems.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex customer issues.

• Fluency in Mandarin is essential.

• Capability to manage conflicting priorities while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

• Strong passion for problem-solving and investigating intricate customer and technical challenges.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Familiarity with containers is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of networking, firewalls, security, clustering, web servers, and databases utilizing Linux is advantageous.

• Experience with Linux scripting languages is a plus.
