Backend Specialist, Charging Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will oversee the system architecture and the ongoing enhancement of our Charging Operations systems, focusing on CPMS and the Charging Backend.

• You are responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of our systems: monitoring and analyzing anomalies, performing troubleshooting, developing sustainable solutions, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.

• You will design the interfaces and data flows between CPMS, OCPP/OCPI, roaming, EMP and CPO partners, payment and billing systems, as well as internal systems like our ERP.

• You will identify opportunities for optimization and enhance the quality and performance of our operations through the implementation of efficient processes and automation.

• You will establish and uphold operational standards, document processes, and drive the development of a sustainable knowledge management framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a comparable qualification is required.

• Several years of professional experience and in-depth knowledge in platform operations and system architecture, preferably within charging infrastructure, IoT, or the energy sector.

• Proficient experience with Charging Backends (CPMS) and standards such as OCPP/OCPI is essential.

• Additional familiarity with roaming, payment, or billing would enhance your profile.

• Strong capability to capture, structure, and implement requirements in collaboration with both internal and external partners.

• You should work in a structured and independent manner while communicating clearly.

• Proficient German language skills and good command of English are necessary.
