Software Engineering Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and upkeep of mirrord’s cloud integration capabilities, including queue splitting and database branching.

• Remain actively engaged and contribute directly to the codebase.

• Collaborate with Kubernetes, cloud services, database systems, message brokers, and various tools and platforms.

• Establish the technical vision for the team while upholding high engineering standards.

• Promote the intelligent and effective application of AI throughout the team.

• Assist in prioritizing tasks, removing obstacles for engineers, and advancing roadmap implementation.

• Recruit and mentor engineers as the team expands.

• Collaborate with Product, Solution Engineering, and users to foster adoption and growth.

• Lead the Cloud Integrations Team, responsible for developing features that automatically manage users’ cloud services to create virtually isolated environments with minimal resource duplication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in leading engineering teams.

• At least 4 years of professional experience in writing production-level code in Rust (preferably), C++, or C.

• Outstanding communication abilities.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.

• Strong systems-level thinking with the capability to debug complex, distributed systems.

• Comfortable working asynchronously in a remote-first startup setting.

• Experience in developing developer tools is a plus.

• Experience in creating Kubernetes operators or other components interacting with the Kubernetes API is a plus.

• Knowledge of backend infrastructure tools such as data stores, message brokers, GitOps tools, etc., is advantageous.
