Software Engineering Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and upkeep of mirrord’s cloud integration functionalities, including queue splitting, database branching, and more.

• Remain actively involved in the codebase and contribute hands-on.

• Collaborate with Kubernetes, cloud services, database systems, message brokers, and various other tools and platforms.

• Establish the technical vision for the team while upholding exceptional engineering standards.

• Promote intelligent and efficient utilization of AI across the team.

• Assist in prioritizing tasks, removing obstacles for engineers, and driving the execution of the roadmap.

• Recruit and mentor engineers as the team expands.

• Collaborate with Product, Solution Engineering, and directly with users to encourage adoption and growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in leading engineering teams.

• At least 4 years of professional experience in writing production-grade code in Rust (preferably), C++, or C.

• Outstanding communication abilities.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.

• Strong systems-level thinking and the capability to debug complex, distributed systems.

• Comfortable working asynchronously in a remote-first, startup culture.

• Experience in developing developer tools (preferred).

• Experience in creating Kubernetes operators or other components that interact with the Kubernetes API (preferred).

• Understanding of backend infrastructure tools such as data stores, message brokers, GitOps tools, etc. (preferred).
