Software Engineering Manager – Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide strong technical leadership and a clear vision for your engineering team, ensuring that it aligns with the strategic goals of the company while remaining engaged with the code to gain the respect of your team.

• Collaborate with product management and various stakeholders to define and prioritize the technical roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business objectives.

• Implement processes, tools, and practices that promote high-velocity and high-quality delivery across both onshore and offshore teams.

• Oversee the successful delivery of software projects, including planning, resource allocation, and project management.

• Enhance and promote the adoption of SQA best practices to guarantee high-quality deliverables.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product/Clinical/Data/ClientSuccess/etc.) and communicate effectively to translate technical details into business language.

• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive product innovation.

• Lead the development of AI-powered features, uphold responsible AI practices (including secure handling of member data and privacy in AI scenarios), and promote the use of AI tools to enhance engineering efficiency.

• Identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges, using data-driven decisions to ensure project success.

• Monitor and drive improvements in team and organizational performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Software Engineering with a minimum of 2 years in an engineering leadership role, demonstrating a successful track record of delivering complex software projects with both onshore and offshore developers.

• Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities, capable of motivating, mentoring, and inspiring engineers in a remote environment.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with offshore developers, cross-functional teams, business partners, and vendors.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Proven hands-on experience with backend systems, ideally using Go and/or cloud-native environments.

• Experience in building or integrating AI-powered features, with a solid understanding of responsible AI practices.

• Experience in building and integrating AI-assisted tools and practices into the SDLC, covering areas like engineering productivity, code generation/review, DevOps workflows, documentation, test automation, and operational governance.
