Software Engineering Manager – SaaS, Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• The Engineering Manager oversees the technical strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of SaaS products developed on public, private, or hybrid architectures.

• This position leads engineering teams in creating secure, scalable, high-performance, reliable, and user-friendly solutions and services, effectively balancing speed, quality, and cost.

• As a hands-on role, it involves establishing technical direction and providing architectural guidance while supporting teams throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• The responsibilities include oversight of systems architecture and design, DevOps, security best practices, and daily leadership, with a strong emphasis on empowering teams to create and maintain sustainable, scalable systems that fulfill complex business and technical needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a significant emphasis on Azure-based architectures.

• At least 5 years of leadership and management experience within an engineering team in an agile environment.

• Proven track record in designing and operating cloud-native Service Level Agreement (SLA) driven SaaS applications.

• Experience in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering talent.

• Demonstrated ownership of architectural decisions across both application and infrastructure layers.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Preference for candidates who can work in or frequently travel to Rochester, NY; however, U.S.-based remote candidates will be considered with occasional travel for planning and collaboration.
