This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, develop, and oversee a team of mobile and full-stack engineers, encompassing hiring, performance evaluation, career advancement, and mentorship.
• Establish clear objectives and expectations for the team, conduct effective one-on-one meetings, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
• Direct architectural and design decisions for the mobile application and its associated services.
• Assume responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of the mobile app roadmap, from technical planning to implementation, quality assurance, release, and post-launch assessment.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to convert user requirements and business priorities into a well-defined, prioritized mobile roadmap.
• Clearly communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to engineering leadership and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, showcasing full-stack expertise in both mobile and backend development.
• Familiarity with backend technologies pertinent to Topgolf's technology stack, such as Go and Scala.
• More than 2 years of experience directly managing software engineers, including aspects of hiring, performance management, and career growth.
• Practical experience in building and deploying mobile applications (iOS, Android, or both) at scale.
• Robust full-stack technical background, covering backend services, APIs, and data layer architecture.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams throughout the complete product lifecycle, from planning to production support.
• Strong architectural insight and the capacity to balance technical debt, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for both engineers and executive stakeholders.
• A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a commitment to enhancing team capabilities.
• Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with product, design, QA, and platform engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as part of the regular development process, with the ability to showcase this experience through code examples or a live demonstration.
• Proven experience in introducing or scaling AI-assisted development practices within an engineering team, including establishing standards for effective and responsible use.
