This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing agile development team to deliver innovative, end-to-end audio and video marketing solutions.
• Act as a liaison between product strategy and technical implementation, driving ongoing delivery, optimizing team workflows, and cultivating a culture of trust and technical excellence to support our expanding subscription-based platform.
• Conduct One-on-Ones: Regular meetings emphasizing career development, addressing obstacles, and fostering trust (not merely project status updates).
• Oversee performance, establish expectations, and provide ongoing feedback through formal performance evaluations.
• Manage team dynamics, conduct interviews, onboard new talent, and oversee exits or performance improvement plans (PIPs).
• Approve timesheets accurately and punctually.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure the backlog is well-defined, estimated, and primed for successful sprint initiations.
• Facilitate ongoing alignment and assist the team in reflecting on process enhancements during daily standups and retrospectives.
• Represent the team's achievements and deliverables during end-of-sprint review meetings.
• Monitor and report on team health and delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, burndown charts).
• Work alongside the Product Owner to synchronize product priorities, evaluate roadmap feasibility, and outline upcoming tasks.
• Engage in architectural and design discussions with leaders across backend, device, and in-reality teams to ensure technical cohesion.
• Manage and resolve critical production issues and outages as the primary contact for production escalations.
• Collaborate with the Support team to triage, prioritize, and convert escalations from Zendesk into actionable Jira tickets.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Leadership Experience: Over 2 years of experience directly managing and mentoring Software Engineers (including 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and career advancement).
• Technical Background: More than 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and architectural design patterns.
• Multi-Stack Familiarity: Experience overseeing engineering teams working with various tech stacks (familiarity with environments like .NET, Java, Python, or JavaScript/Node.js is advantageous).
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Practical experience or strong knowledge of cloud hosting services (specifically AWS), containerization (Docker), and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Modern Agile Mastery: Profound understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, with a proven ability to utilize team metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time) to enhance delivery.
• Cross-Functional Capabilities: Experience closely collaborating with Product Owners and managing/collaborating with QA resources to ensure high-quality releases.
• Problem Solving: Analytical and detail-oriented with decisive judgment and strong escalation management abilities.
• Communication: Outstanding communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for cross-functional stakeholders (Backend, Device, Support, etc.).
