
Software Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Supervise the daily activities of engineers: establish clear priorities, provide coaching, deliver feedback, and conduct performance discussions.
• Take ownership of executing the plan of record—ensuring a balance between scope, capacity, and quality.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Offer hands-on guidance regarding implementation, architectural trade-offs, and maintaining production discipline.
• Advocate for quality practices: testing, observability, CI/CD, and learning from incidents without placing blame.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, and leadership teams on priorities and escalations.
• Manage MSP-controlled internal support to ensure a reliable employee experience, effective escalation handling, and smooth onboarding.
• Uphold SOC 2-compliant IT controls with evidence that is ready for audit.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge across modern SaaS including cloud, APIs, data storage, CI/CD, and observability.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities: fostering accountability, engagement, coaching, and making timely talent decisions.
• Strong agile execution skills—focused on continuous delivery and improvement.
• Familiarity with enterprise environments: security, compliance, and scrutiny from customers.
