This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Jordan.
• Oversee a team of full-stack engineers, fostering their development, performance, and engagement, with the potential inclusion of mobile engineers.
• Transform quarterly roadmaps into actionable delivery plans, monitor progress, and report status using metrics aligned with company objectives.
• Implement robust agile processes and continuously enhance them based on delivery metrics.
• Manage interdependencies across various domains, collaborating with external integration partners to identify and resolve blockers early (e.g., with POS systems).
• Evaluate RFCs and technical proposals, offering insights on design, scalability, security, and integration risks, guiding the team towards sound decisions prior to delivery commitments.
• Facilitate technical discussions with third-party integration partners, bridging partner APIs and constraints with wi-Q's architecture, while owning the technical feasibility aspect in those dialogues.
• Enhance engineering processes and delivery metrics (such as cycle time, deployment frequency, change-failure rate, and defect escape rate), utilizing these metrics to inform decision-making.
• Adhere to security and compliance requirements pertinent to the team's responsibilities (e.g., PCI DSS), integrating them into the squad's workflow rather than treating them as an afterthought.
• Create and monitor team OKRs and engineering KPIs (e.g., DORA); when the team deviates from targets, demonstrate corrective actions being taken.
• Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, DevOps, and Foodics counterparts to achieve common objectives.
• Proven experience in managing a team of software engineers, with a history of reliably fulfilling commitments.
• Strong grasp of agile and lean delivery methodologies (sprints, Kanban, estimation, refinement) and the ability to adapt processes contextually rather than applying them rigidly.
• Established capability in managing dependencies and coordinating delivery across multiple teams and external partners.
• Technically proficient: capable of critically reviewing RFCs and technical proposals, reasoning about architecture, scalability, and integration risks, scoping engineering spikes, and engaging in technical discussions with engineers and external partners.
• Proficient in delivery and quality metrics, with the discipline to prioritize data-driven leadership over anecdotal evidence.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; able to lead with conclusions, maintain conciseness, and specify blockers and required decisions.
• Ability to simplify technical concepts into easily understandable language for non-technical business stakeholders.
• Experience in multi-market or multi-region environments, preferably with distributed and remote teams.
• Adaptable in a fast-paced scale-up environment where priorities may change and ambiguity is commonplace.
• Personalized career progression planning with formal annual reviews and informal check-ins throughout the year.
• Support for growth into a Feature Development Lead role.
• Competitive salary.
• Sufficient time allocated for learning new concepts, including sponsorship for paid development and business-related conferences.
• Fully remote work, eliminating commuting costs.
• Flexible working hours, with availability required for a 10am stand-up; otherwise, work when it suits you best.
• 25 days of holiday (in addition to bank holidays), accruing an extra day for each year of service.
• Regular all-company social events and quarterly team gatherings.
• A team that genuinely enjoys learning and collaborating on projects.
