Software Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and manage a geographically distributed engineering team across both US and international time zones, cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and ongoing improvement.

• Collaborate closely with the CEO and Product Manager to convert business objectives into clear, actionable technical strategies and sprint deliverables.

• Take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle — from planning and architecture through to deployment and post-launch optimization.

• Establish and uphold coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines throughout the team to guarantee high-quality, maintainable code.

• Organize and oversee sprint cycles utilizing JIRA, coordinating task assignments, tracking advancements, and removing obstacles to maintain timely delivery.

• Supervise the team's utilization of GitHub for version control, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows, ensuring effective branching strategies and thorough review processes.

• Ensure that all production systems are performant, dependable, and resource-efficient — actively monitoring and optimizing for cost-effectiveness, speed, and scalability.

• Lead and actively participate in the development, fine-tuning, and deployment of Generative AI models, working directly with LLMs and ML pipelines.

• Continuously assess and embrace emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI advancements to keep auxi.ai's platform cutting-edge and competitive.

• Coordinate cross-functional dependencies between engineering, product, and business stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution.

• Foster a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the engineering organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years in an engineering management or tech lead role.

• Demonstrated experience in fast-paced, high-growth startup or technology environments.

• Strong expertise in C# / .NET and Python; capability to review code and offer meaningful technical insights in both languages.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms — either Microsoft Azure or AWS (or both); familiarity with cloud-native architectures, services, and cost optimization strategies.

• Experience with Generative AI, encompassing work with LLMs, model training, fine-tuning, and deploying AI-driven features in production.

• Proven ability to effectively manage and lead distributed, international teams across varying time zones and cultures.

• Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies; practical experience managing sprints and backlogs in JIRA.

• Strong understanding of GitHub workflows, including branching strategies, pull request reviews, and CI/CD pipeline management.

• A history of building and maintaining highly performant, resource-efficient production systems.

• A proactive attitude towards technology adoption — staying updated with the latest tools, frameworks, and AI research, and sharing those insights with the team.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities; capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical leadership.
