This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Modernize essential internal claims applications into contemporary browser-based solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications utilizing Vue.js 3+, TypeScript, and cutting-edge front-end technologies.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, technical leads, and backend developers.
• Act as the front-end subject matter expert for the team.
• Lead UI modernization initiatives and set development best practices.
• Mentor fellow developers, offering guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.
• Contribute to shaping the future architecture of internal applications that support core business functions.
• Create scalable and reusable components.
• Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and enterprise backend services.
• Implement secure authentication solutions using OAuth/OpenID Connect.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Define system scope and objectives through thorough research and fact-finding.
• Design, develop, modify, or integrate intricate information systems.
• Create or adjust application systems and procedures to maximize capacity, operating time, response time, and desired outcomes.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts.
• Serve as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead for small to medium projects, or manage phases of medium to large projects.
• Keep technical skills updated in software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities, and networks.
• Respond to system failures and performance issues to minimize downtime and prevent future occurrences.
• Support technical best practices and UI modernization efforts.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is mandatory.
• Equivalent years of experience: one year of technical experience for each year of college required.
• 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodologies, terminology, and standards.
• 3 years of experience in systems and programming.
• 1 year of advanced working knowledge of at least one programming language utilized at BCBST.
• Practical experience with Vue.js 3+, TypeScript, Single Page Applications (SPAs), PrimeVue or similar enterprise UI frameworks, REST API integrations, and OAuth/OpenID Connect authentication.
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, component library design, state management frameworks such as Pinia, Agile development practices, automated testing, and integrating front-end applications with enterprise backend services.
• Demonstrated proficiency with information technology utilized at BCBST.
• Proven skills in analysis, design, and coding.
• Track record of successfully leading large and complex projects.
• Ability to interpret and communicate technical and/or complex concepts into understandable information for project team members and/or business stakeholders.
• Highly organized, reliable, capable of managing multiple tasks, and possessing an exceptional work ethic.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Candidates must be available to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.
