Software Engineer, Toolkit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the long-term development of the TimescaleDB toolkit.

• Establish and prioritize the roadmap for the toolkit based on emerging customer demands.

• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and customers to comprehend real-world workflows.

• Convert customer insights into user-friendly developer experiences.

• Enhance reliability, testing, documentation, performance, and maintainability.

• Balance the introduction of new features with the preservation of long-term code quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Rust.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles.

• Contributions to Open Source initiatives.

• Experience in developing SDKs, client libraries, developer tools, APIs, or platforms utilized by other engineers.

• Basic understanding of statistical functions, such as last observation carried forward.

• Familiarity with database fundamentals, including indexing, query execution, transactions, partitioning, and performance trade-offs.

• Capability to navigate both product discovery and implementation phases.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a highly cooperative, globally dispersed engineering team.

• Fluency in the English language is essential.
