Software Engineer – Mid Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical lead for applications enabled by analytics, APIs, and backend services that support predictive models and analytical tools.

• Contribute to the architecture of solutions, design standards, and best practices for scalable, cloud-native analytics platforms.

• Assess, recommend, and implement technologies and frameworks that align with Azure and analytics modernization strategies.

• Ensure compliance with secure coding standards, performance metrics, and enterprise engineering practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services based on Python.

• Lead the development and integration of RESTful APIs.

• Build and support applications utilizing Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Blob Storage, and Azure SQL.

• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and create technical documentation.

• Lead and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

• Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to optimize cloud resources, improve cost efficiency, and enhance system resilience.

• Support production releases, respond to incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and promote continuous improvement.

• Provide Level 3 application support, which includes investigating issues, resolving them, and conducting post-incident reviews.

• Identify risks and performance bottlenecks, escalating critical issues as necessary.

• Work in partnership with business and analytics stakeholders to fulfill functional and operational needs.

• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers.

• Collaborate with data scientists, actuaries, product owners, and global technology teams to convert analytical requirements into production-ready solutions.

• Serve as the technical point of contact for regional analytics engineering projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of professional experience in software engineering, backend development, or analytics platforms.

• Strong, hands-on proficiency in Python development for enterprise-level applications.

• Proven track record in building and utilizing RESTful APIs.

• Experience with cloud-native and serverless architectures, preferably within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

• Solid background in SQL and data warehouse platforms (Azure SQL, Snowflake, or equivalent).

• Demonstrated experience in supporting production systems and user-facing applications.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.

• Experience in application development and support.

• Familiarity with API development utilizing REST.

• Experience with cloud, container, and serverless technologies.

• Experience with Azure Functions, Container Apps, Storage, and SQL.

• Experience with CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps or similar tools.

• Knowledge of unit testing and code quality standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in lieu of formal education.
