Software Engineer, Medicaid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end services and interfaces utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Collaborate with PostgreSQL and relational databases for data storage, retrieval, and management.

• Contribute to the upcoming version of drug utilization review tools.

• Assist in leading automated testing efforts, including unit, integration, and performance tests.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in production systems.

• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that adheres to established coding standards.

• Provide constructive feedback through code review processes.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and quarterly planning across teams.

• Collaborate as part of a small scrum team within a larger initiative to modernize a CMS Medicaid drug-pricing platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional software development experience.

• Strong proficiency in Java programming.

• Practical experience with Spring Boot.

• Solid skills in database design and data modeling.

• Experience in creating and maintaining data models.

• Capability to read, understand, and safely modify a large codebase not originally authored by the candidate.

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven experience in writing automated tests.

• Background in Agile development environments.

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Angular is a plus.

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure is a plus.

• Previous experience in healthcare, Medicaid, or public-benefits systems is a plus.

• Must perform all work physically within the United States.

• Must be a United States citizen.

• Must successfully pass a government-conducted public trust background check.
